California Seaside was inspired by the way Coastal Southern California smells after a good winter rain, when the salty scent of the ocean mixes with the herbal fragrance of the wild bay, sage, rosemary, fennel, and sweet orange blossoms. It is the smell and flavor of home to the maker and one of her favorite blends for seafood, chicken, and eggs.
California Gold gets its name from its intense golden color. Whether you're talking about a California Poppy (our state flower), a California sunset (some of the most gorgeous I've ever seen), or the precious metal that caused the California Gold Rush in the mid-1800s, this intense golden yellow is how I would describe California if it were itself a color. It is one of the first truly unique spice blends from the Bite of Good catalog, and its combination of ingredients creates a harmonious fusion of flavors, combining earthy, smoky, spicy, and sweet elements that can elevate a wide range of dishes and will have you dreaming of California Gold.
